Tan Sri Datuk Ling Chiong Ho has extensive experience and technical know-how toward new development and design & full construction of vessels and repair of vessels. He has been instrumental in the growth and development of the Group and had lead our Group to become an established shipping operator and leading shipbuilder in Malaysia. Tan Sri Datuk Ling is the founder and Chairman of the well diversified Shin Yang Group of Companies involving in reforestation, wood based downstream activities, property development, infrastructure projects and public toll concession, oil palm plantation, public transportation, hypermarkets and hotel businesses. Tan Sri Datuk Ling is currently the Group Executive chairman of Shin Yang Group Berhad and also the Group Business Advisor of Sarawak Oil Palms Berhad, both companies arelisted on Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad.

In addition to being the current Deputy Chairman of Sarawak Timber Association, he also serves as Chairman/Deputy Chairman of several school boards and charitable organisations in Sarawak.

Ling Chiong Sing graduated from Taiwan in Accountancy and is responsible for the overall operational and financial management of our Group. As one of the founding members of our Group, Mr. Ling brings with him over thirty (30) years of extensive and hands-on knowledge on all aspects of our business activities ranging from international and coastal shipping, shipbuilding and ship repairs. Mr. Ling was also pioneer to our projects planning and business development, especially the expansion of new shipping routes. Mr Ling is currently the Group Managing Director of Shin Yang Group Berhad and also the Non-Executive Director and a member of MRGF Committee of Sarawak Oil Palms Berhad, both companies are listed on Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad.

Mr. Ling also served as Chairman to Miri Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry for 2021 to 2023 term. He has been nominated and appointed as a permenant council member of Sarawak Timber Association since March 2010.

Mdm Yong Nyet Yun graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce degree from University of New South Wales, Sydney, Australia in 1983. She is a member of Malaysian Institute of Accountants, a Fellow member of CPA Australia and a member of Chartered Tax Institute of Malaysia.

She joined Ernst & Young Malaysia in 1984. She was the partner in charge of Ernst & Young Miri and Bintulu Offices when she retired from the partnership in 2019. She has intensive experience in assurance, taxation and corporate finance services.

Mdm Yong is also the Chairman of the Audit and Risk Management Committee. She is not related to any director and /or substantial shareholders of the Company and does not have any conflict of interest with the Group.

Chief Executive Officer

Captain Ting is responsible for overall daily operation of our Group. Captain Ting graduated with Bachelor of Science in Marine Navigation and Shipping Management from Keelung, Taiwan, and also holds a Master of International Trade (Captain). Captain Ting joined Shinline Sdn. Bhd. as General Manager in 1997 and has over thirty (30) years of hand-on experience in shipping operations including Class Marine Surveyor for Bureau Veritas, Owner Representative of a shipping company, Ship Captain for Ocean going vessels, Docking Master and Charging Engineer for companies in Sabah and Sarawak. Master, Chief Officer, and Deck Cadet on board of various cargo vessels operated by Mitsui O.S.K Lines, Japan.

Captain Ting is also a Director of Sarawak Maritime Academy Sdn Bhd, maritime higher learning institute which is a member of Shin Yang Holding Group.

Chief Operating Officer cum Company Secretary

He holds a Master in Business Administration from Curtin University of Technology, Australia and is a Fellow member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), Malaysian Institute of Accountants and the Chartered Tax Institute of Malaysia. He began his career as an Auditor with TNAC & Partner, United Kingdom in 1991. Later, he joined Arthur Andersen & Co. in 1993 where he was involved in financial audits including statutory bodies and financial due diligence exercises.

He joined the Shin Yang Holding Group in 1997 as Accountant in Forescom Plywood Berhad and later assumed responsibility as Senior Accountant in charge of financial reporting in the headquarters of Shin Yang Sdn Bhd in 1998. Since 2008, he has been in charge of our treasury function and corporate finance and was promoted to Financial Controller and Company Secretary in 2009 and subsequently redesignated as Chief Financial Officer. His professional experiences include accounting, secretarial, management consultancy, taxation, banking and finance. At present, he is the Chief Operating Officer cum Company Secretary of Shin Yang Group Berhad.

General Manager – Marketing

Mr. Lim Miang Chiang (a.k.a MC Lim) have been in the shipping industry for over 30 years.

With a strong leadership, rich knowledge and connection, the company now has a solid base of loyal customers In Pasir Gudang market. MC’s strength has always been about solving problems and how to work towards a win win situation.

General Manager – Operation

Mr. Puru have been working alongside Mr. MC Lim for over 25 years. Aside from specializing in conventional shipment, he also manages the entire internal team to ensure everything operational is run smoothly. Not to mention, he also have a wide and rich connection in the government and custom sector.

Business Director

Fern Yong is a driven and enthusiastic businessman who strives for “improvements” in whatever he does.

In 2012, Fern Yong earned a double major in marketing and international business from Victoria University of Wellington in New Zealand.

After that, he relocated to Singapore to work as a project manager at a creative agency and work with clients including SAP, the Singapore Government Communication arm, and many more.

With a foundation in project management and experience in the design and innovation industries, he returned to Johor, Malaysia (in 2015) because he saw an opportunity to advance the shipping and logistics sector there and since there aren’t many young people who want to work in this established sector. His personal goal is to raise the standards of the industry, his organization, and ultimately his nation’s trade/ policies.

Fern began his career as a marketing executive in a family-owned subsidiary company, handling both operations and tasks including making sales pitches to potential customers. Fern soon came to the realization that the business model needed to be improved in order to maintain clients, so he began to establish subsidiary businesses. Fern has so far developed 4 companies that complement the current company strategy. He presently oversees a total of 7 businesses.

Thanks to Fern’s desire and heart for “improvements” over the years, in June 2023, Fern and his team successfully raise the group of firms to a new level through a joint venture with a Buusa listed Malaysia based shipping company (Shin Yang Group Berhad). With this newly form structure and total logistic approach, the company’s intention is to expand to Port Klang and Penang with its innovation and management approach.
In addition to growing operations, Fern sees this joint venture as providing him with new opportunities and platforms. He intends to one day enter the sphere of port management and international trade.

In addition to his job, Fern is passionate about advancing the sector. He joined the Johor Port Shipping and Forwarding Association (JPSFA) as a committee member in 2016 and has been actively involved in planning training for the association’s 180+ members. He obtained his HRDC certification as well, and he plans to speak at conferences in the future to educate the business community and advance the association.
